About Kya

Originally from South Yorkshire. Kya moved to London in 1994 to complete a course at the Anna Scher Theatre,. Career started with the 1990's Noel's Garden Party Tour working as event crew and receptionist. then moving across to Viking FM and winning the title of Miss Sheffield 1998, representing Yorkshire for Miss United Kingdom.

Other achievements include, travelling the globe with the Miss Tourism Organisation, hosting pageants around the world, gaining opportunities to present on television and live stage. Credits include Channel 4 and BSkyB. While keeping her feet firmly on the ground, employment history includes retail, sport and hospitality. Favourite sport is football, working for Sheffield United in hospitality (1998 - 2007) Most recently being recruited at Arsenal FC.

2003 continued with further training in Performing Arts and achieved opportunities working on several major films as a stand-in and body double for Michelle Pfieffer (I Could Never be your Woman, Stardust), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Batman - (The Dark Knight, Nanny Mcphee & the Big Bang), Julia Styles (Bourne Ultimatum), Diane Kruger (National Treasures) and Amy Ryan (Green Zone).

2009 Kya was selected to play a Supernumerary (Chorus Extra) in the West End Production of JB Priestley's An Inspector Calls Directed by Stephen Daldry and produced by PW Productions & Kenneth Wax Ltd, the production started its UK Tour in early 2009 where Kya joined at the Norwich Theatre Royal and Sheffield Lyceum Theatre. late 2009 after spending summer on Nanny Mcphee and the Big Bang, Kya re joined the cast and crew into the West End (Novello Theatre) through popular demand the production continued on until March 2010 at the Wyndhams Theatre, Leicester Square.

Most recent work includes playing foster parents alongside Walter Lewis in FOSTER, D.S Brown who is the assistant to D.I Kelly played by Ian Burfield in Eastenders and the role of Tara Child in the short film Once Bitten for Fat Pig Productions.
