An Interview with Kya Garwood

ya Garwood is an actor born in Yorkshire, England. She began her training in tap and ballet at a young age before moving to London at 18 to study at the Anna Scher Theatre School and Kensington & Chelsea College for Performance Arts. Alongside performance training, she developed her craft through work as a film stand-in and double, gaining strong technical experience on feature productions.

Her stage credits include Stephen Daldry’s West End and UK tour production of An Inspector Calls, a lead role in Package Deal at The Cockpit Theatre, and a recent performance at Omnibus Theatre London during the SAG strike. Her television work includes Dream Team, Footballers’ Wives, Dead Ringers, and Holby City. Film credits include Paddington 2 and The Marvels, with her first lead screen role in the short film LUCY, which premiered at the 28th Brussels Short Film Festival. Her performance in the film has since received multiple international awards.
